Somedays just feel more romantic than others. On this particular day, I must have felt something amorous in the air which I suspect influenced this equestrian-like get-up. (Haven't you always assumed that all princesses knew how to ride horses?) I hope to have more days like this.

Weather in southern California can be best described as capricious. January afternoons are generally warm with a slight chill in the air but when the sun sets, turning day into night, we, the Californians, are confronted with the desert’s biting cold.

I find that because of the drastic change in weather, it is best to wear layers that are easily portable. This way you can fold your outerwear over your handbag throughout a “travel intensive” day. In my case, I chose to wear this deliciously luxurious Burberry Poncho, which can easily and neatly be folded.

As for any advise in shoes or winter feet styling, I have none. I tend to sacrifice the warmth of my toes for the statement of my heels. (But I'm sure boots would be cute as well.)

Year of the Snake

As some of you may know, 2013 will be the year of the snake according to the Chinese Calendar. (Which, by the way, will not start until the 10th of February.) And although I am a bit early to celebrate the subsequent year of the snake, I still thought it would be an appropriate and fun inspiration for any outfit during any time and season. In my case, I have many seductive jewelry pieces in the form of a snakes that, when worn, gives any outfit a sense of mystery and intrigue. Knowing this, I look forward to making and planning more posts incorporating my collection of cold blooded..accessories.

I know what you're thinking. -"It's winter and you're wearing a sleeveless sweater with shorts! I cry fashion blasphemy!"

My answer to this response (and defense to many of my decisions) is...it's LA! 

Its hard to believe that just last week, throughout my stay in Dallas, I was bundled up in layers of sweaters and jackets and resisting with all my might to be the first weakling to reach for the heater. Needless to say, I ended up being that weakling every time...every, single, freaking time. T-T

I guess living with such consistently warm weather all year round really does spoil a girl like me.

And like most spoiled girls, I will most likely spend this weekend looking for a good sale and parading around in leather shorts in the hot, hot sun.
